Where to go for adventures in India

India is a massive country: with a population of over 1.2 billion and covering nearly 1.3 million square miles (~3.3 million square km), India is full of opportunities for adventure. With so much to choose from, we wanted to show the Druplicon experiencing some of the best that India has to offer. This comic strip is called Safar-e Drupal: the name is written in urdu, a language widely used in Indian Subcontinent. The word "safar" translates to "journey" in English, so the words "Safar-e-Drupal" is a way of saying that a journey and Drupal are interconnected.

Druplicon adventuring in India

Submerged in spirituality - This frame shows Druplicon rowing the boat in Varanasi, which is regarded as the spiritual capital of India. Many people across the world travel to different places in India like Varanasi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, and so on in the quest of spiritual enlightenment. Even Steve Jobs came to India in search for enlightenment. Will you?

Riding in the desert - This frame shows Druplicon travelling in Thar Desert, also known as the Great Indian Desert. If you're looking for an adventure in the desert, you can experience sand dunes while riding on a camel. India also has the largest salt desert in the world: the Great Rann of Kutch, which is located in the state of Gujarat.

Taking the long road - This frame shows Druplicon travelling India on a motorbike. To experience the diverse and beautiful landscapes India has to offer, taking a motorbike is the best medium. There are numerous biking expeditions in India, including opportunities to travel to Khardung-La, a mountain pass located in Ladakh region and better known as one of the world's highest motorable road.

Call of the mountains - This frame shows the Druplicon trekking in the mountains. India has a huge number of mountains and mountain ranges, with many different trekking options: Easy, Moderate, Strenuous and Challenging. The Indian mountain ranges have everything from grass mountains to snow covered mountains.

We hope Safar-e-Drupal has motivated you to enjoy a great Indian journey while you are in Mumbai to attend the DrupalCon this February.

See you in Mumbai!
