Ten Grant Recipients and Scholars to Join Us at DrupalCon Dublin
DrupalCon is an incredible meeting place for community members from all over the globe. But it's not a free event. To make going to DrupalCon more affordable, the Drupal Association coordinates grants and scholarships. We dedicated $10,000 to helping people get to DrupalCon.
The grant and scholarship program helps community members with travel and ticket reimbursement awards. It's funded by ticket sales, membership funds, and the support of generous partners. This year, 108 people applied. Below are some interesting facts about them:
- 38 countries - some as close to Dublin as the United Kingdom; some as far away as the Phillipines
- 38 grant applicants - to help grow the project
- 70 scholarship applicants - to help grow Drupal adoption and local communities around the globe
Our Grant and Scholarship Selection Committee is Andrea Soper (zendoodles), Adam Hill (adshill), and Suchi Garg (gargsuchi). They reviewed and ranked each qualified application. Then, based on that ranking, we awarded five scholars and five grant recipients.
The recipients are from nine countries. They've all contributed to the Drupal project and community in unique ways. Six of them are first-time recipients! Please help us congratulate and thank them for their contributions to growing our community.
